The Gardens
Growing A Beautiful Space
Our goal has been to create a working flower farm while preserving and enhancing the beauty and welcoming feel of our outdoor space. We strive to create a place that feels warm and embracing, like you've stepped out of the noise and chaos of the world into something calm and truly special.

We have gardens tucked into every nook and corner of the property that are kept tidy and that appear to be part of the landscaping, but they are also working gardens. Our flower field is our main grow space for annual flowers, and another smaller field out back is used for growing foliage, fillers, and textural elements. We have a garden of raised beds that is used for growing ranunculus, edible flowers, and vegetables, and we have added other raised beds with built-in trellises for growing pumpkins and vining flowers. Our peony field was added in 2020 and is home to near 250 peony plants. Perennial gardens of all different types are nestled in all along the house and around the property - flower gardens, pollinator and drought-tolerant gardens, herb gardens, a lilac hedge, and shade gardens for growing Hellebores, Hydrangea, and other unusual flowers. We have planted dozens of trees across the property, some for shade, some for privacy, and others for their beautiful spring and/or fall color.

Everything we plant serves a purpose, whether it produces flowers or foliage we can use in arrangements or dry for later use, food for us or for the pollinators, shade from our harsh sun, or habitat for birds and other beneficial creatures. We make careful choices about what we grow - we look for things that not only do well in our climate but that are both beautiful and functional and add to the aesthetic of our property. Every corner you turn reveals something new and different and beautiful.
